Professor Joo Heung Kim is Assistant Professor in the Division of Breast Surgery at Yongin Severance Hospital, Yonsei University College of Medicine in Seoul, South Korea. He earned his Bachelor of Medicinefrom Chung-Ang University College of Medicine in Seoul in 2008. He obtained his Certificate of Surgery (Specialist) in 2013 and his Certificate of Breast Surgery (Subspecialist) in 2017. Professor Kim completed his Master’s degree at Yonsei University Graduate School in 2015 and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree at the same institution.

Professor Kim’s research expertise covers a broad spectrum of breast diseases, including breast cancer, benign breast tumors, hereditary breast and ovarian cancer, robotic surgery, and oncoplastic surgery. He is an active member of several professional societies, such as the Korean Medical Association, Korean Surgical Society, Korean Society of Surgical Oncology, Korean Breast Cancer Society, Korean Surgical Ultrasound Society, and the Korean Cancer Association.

Recognized for his academic contributions, Professor Kim has received mutiple awards, including the Best Poster Award at the 3rd World Congress in Controversies in Breast Cancer (CoBrCa 2017) in Tokyo, Japan; the Outstanding Poster Presentation Award at the 4th Congress of the Asian Surgical Ultrasound Society (ASUS) in Seongnam, Korea; and the Good Poster Award at the Global Breast Cancer Conference (GBCC) in Seoul, Korea.
