Dr. Jian Zhou is the Professor of Surgery, PH.D. and MD., at the Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery and Liver Transplantation, Zhongshan Hospital Fudan University, where he serves as the President of the Hospital. He is also the Executive Vice Director of Liver Cancer Institute of Fudan University, Vice Director of Key Labolatory of Carcinogenesis and Cancer Invasion (Fudan University) under Ministry of Education.

Dr. Zhou has been awarded numerous prestigious honours, including being Fellow of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, Changjiang Distinguished Professor of the Ministry of Education, and Scientific & Technological Innovation Leading Talent of Nation’s 10,000 People Plan.

He also holds key positions such as Chairman Designate of the Chinese Society of Oncology under Chinese Medical Association, President of the Asia-Pacific Primary Liver Cancer Expert Meeting Association (APPLE), and Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Chinese College of Surgeons. He is the Chairman of the Experts Committee on Liver Cancer for the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology (CSCO) and an Executive Council Member of the Asian-Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver (APASL). He is also the former Chairman of Society of Liver Cancer under China Anti-Cancer Association.

As the Professor of Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery and Liver Transplantation, Dr. Zhou has been working on the basic and clinical studies in liver cancer for 34 years, and has the clinical experience of more than 10,000 hepatectomies and 3,000 orthotopic liver transplantation. His expertise is in the Basic and Clinical Researches in Liver Cancer and Liver Transplantation and he has been in charge of 28 research projects including the National Key R&D Program and Key Project of National Natural Science Foundation of China, reaching an amount of 12 million USD$, and has published 139 SCI papers as the first or correspondence author including The Lancet, Journal of Clinical Oncology, Lancet Oncology, Cell Research, Gastroenterology and Journal of Hepatology , etc., H-index 94.

Dr. Zhou has won 5 national-level Awards for Scientific and Technological Advancement.
