Professor Jiahong Dong, MD, PhD, ASA (Hon), ESA (Hon), is Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He is Chair Professor at Tsinghua University, Dean of its School of Clinical Medicine, and President of the Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital. He is also Vice President of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association. His exceptional contributions to the field have been recognized with as Honorary Fellowship in the American Surgical Association (ASA) and Honorary Academician in the French National Academy of Surgery.

Professor Dong has attained many remarkable achievements in the field of hepatobiliary surgery, particularly in the long-term management of complex biliary diseases. As a visionary innovator, he was the first to propose the concept of "precision surgery" worldwide, a paradigm that has revolutionized the field, and has since been undertaking endeavors in establishing the associated surgical paradigms and technological systems. His 2006 introduction of "precision liver surgery" marked a pivotal shift from conventional experience-based surgical practices to a modern era of precision surgical practice.

Professor Dong’s profound scholarly impact is evidenced by the publication of over 170 SCI papers as first or corresponding author. As a testament to his commitment to standardizing and improving clinical care, he has presided over the creation of 15 industry standard guides. In recognition of his transformative contributions, Professor Dong has been awarded the 2nd Prize of the National Award for Science and Technology Progress as the 1st contributor and the 1st Prize as a co-director.
