Nurse Consultant (Breast Care)

Kowloon East Cluster

 

Ms Wong Kwai Ying is a nurse consultant of breast care in Kowloon East Cluster. She is expertise on caring patients with breast cancer and benign disease. 

Ms Wong established of accredited Breast Nurse Clinic and developed of Clinical Pathway on “Operation for Ca breast” greatly enhanced the Breast Care Service and shortened the hospital stay of our patients. Ms. Wong supported well with breast team and set up of novel mastalgia clinic and the breast cancer surveillance clinic in UCH helped early discharge of patients from breast clinics. Ms Wong also helped in the coordination of multidisciplinary team activities which is important for the one stop imaging service, the one stop integrated cancer service and comprehensive lymphoedema program in United Christian Hospital.  

 

Ms Wong also contributed significantly to the professional development of the specialty nurse. She worked for the Breast Care Specialty Development in HAHO as the SAG-breast subgroup leader. She organized in-service training program for breast nurses, EBP programs and nursing guidelines.

Ms Wong is a council member of The Hong Kong College of Surgical Nursing (HKCSN) as well as the Breast Specialty Board member of HKCSN. She contributed as a honorary clinical mentor and help organized and supported events related to promotion and public relations.

Ms Wong conducted some research activities and CQI programs in United Christian Hospital and SAG breast subgroup.
