Dr. Lam is currently Consultant in Department of Surgery of United Christian Hospital. He is the chief of Upper GI, Metabolic and Bariatric surgery in Kowloon East Cluster. Dr. Lam graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2008. He obtained fellowships from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the College of Surgeons of Hong Kong in 2015. He completed the subspecialty training in Upper GI surgery in 2019 and is currently the Upper GI subspecialty trainer.

 

Dr. Lam’s special interest is minimal invasive foregut surgery, robotic surgery, bariatric surgery and advanced therapeutic endoscopy. He received post-graduate training in esophageal surgery under Professor Yuko Kitagawa at Keio University Hospital and Dr. Hiroyuki Daiko at National Cancer Center Hospital, Tokyo. He underwent clinical fellowship for metabolic and bariatric surgery under Dr. Kazunori Kasama at Yotsuya Medical Cube in 2019. He had overseas training by Professor Woo-Jin Hyung at Yonsei University College of Medicine, Seoul and commenced Robotic Upper GI surgery at KEC in 2023.

 

Under Dr. Lam’s leadership, KEC Upper GI team had been awarded the Outstanding Team Award in 2020 in recognition of the outstanding performance in Hospital Authority. His academic works had been awarded the best presentation at APELS webinar 2020 and APMBSS conference 2021. He had been awarded KEC Young Achiever Award 2022 recently.

 

Dr. Lam is currently the Vice President of Hong Kong Society of Upper GI Surgeons. He is also the council member of Hong Kong Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and Hong Kong Society of Minimal Access Surgery.
