Dr. Chi-Leung Liu graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Hong Kong in 1988, and received his surgical training at the Department of Surgery, The University of Hong Kong. He became a Fellow of Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1992, Fellow of College of Surgeons of Hong Kong in 1993, Fellow of Hong Kong Academy of Medicine in 1995 and Fellow of American College of Surgeons in 2000. He completed a one-year overseas training at Queensland Liver Transplant Centre, Australia in 1995. He also obtained the degree of Master of Surgery in 1999 and Doctor of Medicine in 2004.
Dr. Liu has over thirty years’ experience in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery. He is the founder of Hong Kong Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Centre, Honorary Professor of Department of Surgery, The University of Hong Kong, Queen Mary Hospital, Honorary Consultant of Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital. Dr. Liu is also a member of the Education Committee of Hong Kong Anti-Cancer Society, and was previously Honorary Professor of Department of Surgery, National University of Singapore.
